Leaked Photos Reveal More 2024 BMW XM Flagship SUV Radical Details

BMW may have just completed a refresh that makes the 2023 BMW 3 Series more sporty while also maintaining its clean appearance, but it appears that the automaker isn’t going to hold back on the styling of its upcoming all-new 2024 BMW XM flagship SUV, judging by these newly leaked photos of what appears to be a production vehicle.

The XM, in contrast to the previous M SUVs that have been released thus far, is not directly based on an existing non-performance model. Furthermore, the XM’s radical new design language is intended to differentiate it even further as the peak of the brand’s capacity in terms of performance.

New photographs from a “unknown source” have been released on Instagram by wilcoblok (the post is restricted from being embedded, but fast auto has asked and obtained permission to put it here).

The photos show what is said to be an XM that was photographed at an airport partially covered. Even if several components, such as the headlights and wheels, are obscured, we are nevertheless provided with a fascinating look at a great deal of the vehicle’s characteristics.

The front view reveals the large kidney nostrils that have been finished with a gold satin-edged trim. This finish is comparable to the satin-finish trim that can be found on other M-tuned vehicles. In these pictures, the exterior in its whole has satin trim finishes, and the very final picture in this collection shows a peculiar window trim that runs down the side of the car.

From the side, we can get a feel of the sheer volume of the car that this will be, which is planned to fit somewhere in size and price somewhere between the BMW X7 and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUVs that BMW also manufactures. It is possible, although not likely, that this will be the largest model that BMW offers in their inventory.

The rear view shot shows a car that is partially covered, but we can see that the quad, angular exhaust pipes and Roundel back-window decals from the concept have been included into the production model that is being displayed here. There is also a sneaky image taken inside, but it doesn’t show much other than the fact that the vehicle has an M-series steering wheel.

The BMW XM is one of two flagship models; the other is the seventh-generation all-new BMW 7 Series, which was debuted last month. The BMW 7 Series is the brand’s most luxurious and comfortable vehicle, and it symbolizes the brand’s highest level of luxury and comfort. The XM is the flagship model, and it is the one that focuses on performance. It also has a more aggressive and athletic appearance. To say the least, the artistic decisions that were made for both have been met with opposition.

You can learn more about our experience test-driving an XM prototype vehicle here, which we’ve previously had the opportunity to operate.

The BMW S68-generation 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, which will be combined with an electric motor unit, is anticipated to be used in at least one of the powertrain options that will be available for the XM, which is likely to be sold in at least two different engine configurations.

According to BMW, the hybrid performance SUV is expected to have a range of up to 30 miles when travelling only on the power provided by an onboard battery.

The model that we’ve driven had a rating of 644 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, but the powertrain that was featured in the XM Concept was said to be capable of producing up to 750 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, so it’s likely that the two configurations will fall somewhere in between those numbers.

It would not come as a surprise to us if the XM model that is seen in these images taken at an airport is the very same model that is utilised when the car is formally launched.

It’s possible that it was on its way to a photoshoot when it was captured in the act of being photographed. The XM is scheduled to make its official debut in September of this year, and sales are expected to start in March of 2023.
