1969 Chevrolet Blazer Customized Using Only the Highest Quality Parts

Brian Jacobsen’s ideal 1969 Chevy Blazer had a straightforward design: it needed to be quick in the desert, tough against the rocks, and a true classic. The rest, as they say, is history. He soon got to work transforming an aging 1969 K5 that had been lying around in a neighboring backyard into a roadworthy 4×4. He was inspired by a 1969 K5 that had been lying about in a nearby backyard for years.

The Blazer Experience

Brian took his time when it came to assembling the Blazer since he knew precisely what he wanted. He spent no time in removing the body, stripping the frame, and collecting the parts he required. Together with Rock Bottom Offroad in Riverside, California, Brian became familiar with his new fire-breathing motor, set up the linked suspension, and added bespoke armor and a full rollcage to the Blazer body, which was mostly brand new at the time of the build.

The refurbished and redesigned 1969 Chevrolet Blazer was ready for the dirt at the conclusion of a two-year construction procedure. The LS3 cruised across the Southern California desert with ease, and the Offroad Design links and King coilovers made short work of rock gardens and sand whoops. Aside from that, the Blazer’s Cavalry Blue paintjob and its overall retro appeal continue to draw a fair amount of attention as well.

Powertrain

Brian wanted a lot of power for his 1969 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, so he turned to J & M Speed Center and Hughes Performance for his crate LS3 V-8 and 4L80E transmission, as well as Advance Adapters to help him connect the transmission to the Offroad Design NP205 transfer case. With the help of a CBM Motorsports tune, the engine’s power ratings have increased to a respectable 495 horsepower.

The interior and rollcage of the vehicle

A console hand-built by @n8zfab, the same fabrication genius who created the Blazer’s complete rollcage, houses the B&M shifter and JB Custom Fabrication twin-sticks. Brian and his passengers are well-protected in PRP Racing seats and harnesses, while the driver keeps an eye on the Blazer’s vitals on the carbon-fiber Classic Industries dash, which is outfitted with Auto Meter instruments.

Tires and wheels are important components of every vehicle.

Milestar Patagonia mud-terrain tires in the sizes 38×13.50R17LT fit into the fenders of a 1969 Chevrolet Blazer. KMC Machete is the brand of beadlocks.

Lighting

The Gravity Pro6 LED lightbar from KC Lights crowns the windshield, and a trio of the company’s Gravity Pro6 pods are installed to the Chassis Unlimited front bumper for further illumination. Rock lights from KC Lights and Rigid Industries illuminate obstructions beneath the Blazer, while Truck-Lite headlights illuminate the highways that connect home to the trailhead.

Axle in the front

It has everything Brian needs to pick his way through even the most difficult lines thanks to the Dana 60 frontend, ARB Air Locker, 5.13 gears, and ram-assist components from PSC Motorsports.

Suspension with four-links and coilovers

Using the King coilovers and King bumpstops with 14-inch travel, Brian was able to satisfy his desires for bump-taming and rockcrawling with relative ease. Using the four-link system from Offroad Design, you can suspend the front axle and utilize every inch of travel available on the coilovers.

Top Made of Canvas

To provide flexible covering in the back, Softopper was the best option. Customers in the 1969 Chevrolet Blazer like the ability to roll up the top, and when it is down, the vehicle is completely sealed against the elements (mud, snow, and dust).

Axle and Suspension on the Rear

The 14-bolt rear axle is held in place by links from Offroad Design, which are supported by King 2.5 coilovers. The 5.13 gears are hidden beneath a Crane Axle differential cover, which is also from Offroad Design. Brian’s bespoke aluminum gasoline tank was fabricated by Boyd Welding Company.

Toyota Paint, perhaps?

The factory hood and tailgate of the 1969 Chevrolet Blazer were retained by Brian, while the rest body components were replaced with reproductions. The color options were whittled down to two options: a matte gray inspired by Toyota and Cavalry Blue, with the ultimate decision being decided by Brian’s daughter. She said that if the Blazer were gray, it would blend in with the rest of the vehicles on the road. As a result, Cavalry Blue was chosen.
